With the official debut of the all-new Kia Syros, competition in the sub-4-meter SUV segment has intensified. The compact SUV will make its public debut at the Bharat Mobile Expo 2025 in January, followed by launch in February. The Korean carmaker also plans to launch an electric version of the Syros to challenge the dominance of the Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor and Mahindra XUV400 EV. This will be Kia India’s first affordable electric product for the mass market. As of now, details about the Kia Syros EV are unclear. However, here are all the key things we can expect from this upcoming Kia electric SUV.
Kia Syros EV platform and powertrain
Kia’s new electric SUV may be related to Hyundai Inster Electric Carsold to the global market. It will be built on the K1 architecture, which is also the basis for ICE-powered Syros. The platform is designed for compact vehicles. The powertrain setup is also likely to be the same as the Hyundai Inster EV, with two battery packs: 42kWh and 49kWh. The former claims a power output of 97 horsepower and a range of 300 kilometers, while the latter promises an output of 115 horsepower and a range of 355 kilometers. Maximum torque for both batteries is 147Nm.
Kia Syros EV design and features
The new Kia electric SUV is expected to retain most of the design elements, interior layout and features of its ICE counterpart. However, some changes may be made to highlight its electric nature. this Syros powered by ICE Featuring the best-in-class interior with advanced features, flexible seating configurations and premium materials. The same is expected for its electric version.
Kia Syros EV price expectations and release schedule
The new Kia electric SUV will use a high level of local production and is expected to be priced very high. The estimated cost is less than Rs 15 lakh. Official launch details for the Syros EV have yet to be announced, but it will reportedly hit the road in 2026.
