After taking office, Indian Prime Minister Modi vowed to shine “at least one light” in every home in the country.
The annual Renewable Energy Expo in India will be held over 3 days in late September. This international exhibition is organized by the renowned British exhibition group UBM. The exhibition hall is located at the Mactan Convention and Exhibition Centre in New Delhi. The exhibition site of over 25,000 square meters is expected to attract over 20,000 traders and nearly 600 exhibiting companies.
India is located in a sunny region of the world and enjoys abundant solar radiation. There are 250 to 300 days of sunshine throughout the year. It is the country with the greatest potential for solar energy development in the world (annual solar energy production is 1,700 to 1,900 kWh/kWp).Most parts of the country receive between 4 and 7 kilowatt hours of solar radiation per square meter per day. India’s cumulative installed power generation capacity is 152 GW (as of end-2009), and the overall electricity demand is facing a deficit of 11%, reaching 12% at peak, making the power shortage severe. As the economy continues to grow, India’s electricity demand is increasing by about 6% per year, and the peak load is expected to exceed 778 GW by 2031.India’s power sector is heavily dependent on coal as a fuel, with 53% of the installed power generation capacity being based on coal. However, according to the local coal department’s projections, India’s existing coal reserves can last only 40-45 years. Hence, there is an urgent need to find alternative energy sources.
Indian Renewable Energy ExhibitionKey exhibits includeSolar panel components, solar power generation systems, photovoltaic inverters, solar batteries, solar lamps, solar panels, photovoltaic lighting systems and products, solar system control software,Wind turbines, wind-solar hybrid systems andOther renewable energy products, etc.In 2015, the exhibition area reached 25,000 square meters, with more than 550 exhibitors, attracting nearly 20,000 professional buyers from all over the world and India.
The Indian Renewable Energy Expo is an exchange platform to showcase new energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy and electric energy conservation. Its aim is to promote the development and research on the popularization and application of wind energy, solar energy and other green energy in daily life, so as to accelerate the development and learning of renewable energy technologies in India. With the support of the government, the Indian Renewable Energy Expo has attracted many investors from the energy sector and is an excellent platform for companies to develop the Indian new energy market.
