- Peace Vans’ Buzz.Box upgrades the VW ID.Buzz with a compact kitchen and storage space for $7,995.
- The $10,995 Buzz.Box.Sleeper adds a queen-size bed to the VW ID.Buzz for easy camping.
- Buzz.Camper offers full kitchens and customizable decor, with prices to be determined.
Volkswagen hasn’t even started delivering the ID.Buzz to customers in the U.S., but one aftermarket company is already offering a range of accessories to transform the electric van into the ultimate camper van. That’s good news for buyers, as VW claimed back in March that there wasn’t enough demand to build an ID.Buzz California camper van in-house — at least not until the second half of this decade.
The upgrades and accessories come from a company called Peace Vans, which is a specialist in repairing and restoring classic Volkswagen vans. The company was able to gain access to the ID.Buzz prototype, allowing it to develop three different upgrade packages before the electric van starts hitting the roads.

The most basic option for the ID.Buzz is the Buzz.Box. It sits in the third row and is custom-made for this purpose. Inside the Buzz.Box is a kitchenette unit with a sink, isobutane cooker and a 25-litre small fridge. The box also has space-saver drawers and several storage compartments, including a place to store the van’s factory charging cable. A wireless smartphone charger is also available. Buzz.Box starts at $7,995.
Those who wish to prepare their ID.Buzz for overnight adventures would be wise to opt for the Buzz.Box.Sleeper. It contains the same standard box, but now includes a sleeping platform with a queen bed that is almost as large as a queen bed. This upgrade is priced at $10,995.
The most impressive product from Peace Vans is the complete Buzz.Camper. While the finishing touches are still being put on, the camper will feature a fully equipped kitchen, including a sink and refrigerator. Preliminary photos also show a large dining area that can easily be converted into a sleeping area. Customers will also have the opportunity to customize certain finishes, ensuring the camper meets all requirements. Peace Vans has not yet confirmed the price of the Buzz.Camper.
