The Trump administration said it would abolish any federal zero-emission vehicle requirements and prioritize the development of internal combustion engines. She said: “The incoming administration marks its plan to retreat from cleaning vehicle regulations, including potential California exemptions,” Sue Gander, director of the electric school bus program at WRI. “These exemptions, including those that affect school buses, play a major role in air quality in California and many other states, and revoking them would be a setback.
The California Air Resources Commission has withdrawn requirements for approval of stricter emission rules for locomotives and semi-trucks. The rule will eliminate new diesel trucks and buses for sale from 2036 to 2036. The Transportation Topic Report says Carb backed down because the Environmental Protection Agency has not approved the request, and even if it has been done, the Trump administration will revoke it.
Carb has received an EPA exemption from Omnibus Lo-Nox regulations, including school buses. For 2024 models to 2026 engines, NOX emissions must be reduced by 75%.
Meanwhile, this year’s ACT Expo keynote speaker will be announced this year, and it is expected to receive the full lineup in February.
The 2024 event was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with more than 12,000 commercial transportation professionals attending the conference. When the event returns to Anaheim, TRC said, “it will be about twice as much as the Expo Hall space for the 2023 Anaheim event to accommodate exhibitors, premium vehicles and clean transport solutions on display in the exhibition hall. .”
