Indian GT racer Akshay Gupta takes second place podium in Dubai 2025 in TCE class, driving Asbest Racing (Car #102) in Cupra TCR

Indian flag flying high in Dubai 2025 24 hours as an Indian GT racer, Akshay Gupta, Impressive A second podium finish in the TCE class 24-hour race ended in a grueling 24-hour race. As Cupra TCR (Car #102) battles for the car, the car is shared with Junichi Umemoto (JP), Lutz Obermann (GER), Henrik Sandell (SWE) and Nadir Zuhour (UAE).

In version 20, Dubai 2025 A 24-hour turnout saw 65 cars and up to 300 drivers compete for top honors in six classes at the Dubai Auto Zone circuit. Granted, TCE only has three entries, but completing a grueling 24-hour race is a significant achievement in itself. The race was far from straightforward as suspension failure meant 30 minutes of repair work forcing them to spend 2.5 hours on the Pitlane with gearbox failure, steering column failure and even a PitStop mix costing them much of the race lead. By all accounts Akshay Gupta and his team managed to close out the race, with Gupta setting the fastest lap of the team in 2:15.279.

Second place is another key feather in the cap for Akshay Gupta, who has an impressive 2024 incarnation that includes a win Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2024 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) in the VT2-F class. His current goal is to get more track time with the TCR car and explore more 24-hour series events in 2025.
