Bay Coast and Orange Beaches in Alabama.Beach Sports and Events in Gulf Coast and Alabama will host the American Volleyball Association (AVCA) Small College Beach Volleyball Championship from April 17 to 19, 2025. It is expected to bring about 650 student-athletes representing student-athletes from all over the country. The event is free to the public.

“It’s very exciting for AVCA to work with Gulf Coast to win the beach volleyball championship again!” said Dr. Jaime Gordon, CEO of AVCA. “The city has named the beach volleyball community and it was a great partner when AVCA held its inaugural College National Championship before the NCAA took over. Taking the 2025 AVCA Small College Beach Championship to the Gulf Coast to continue the partnership, we look forward to a great event in April.”

The areas of the activity include 18 Level II schools, 9 Level III schools and 6 NAIA schools. There are 20 Champions Courts and four driving ranges, with large open locations welcomed to the public.

“Our journey to becoming an ideal destination for college beach volleyball started with hosting the AVCA before the sport was approved by NCAA, and for that we will never be grateful,” said Michelle Russ, vice president of sales, sports and events at Alabama’s Beaches Beaches Sports & Events. “We look forward to welcoming AVCA back to our beaches for this massive championship.”
