Total production of both models is limited to 50 units, exclusively for the Australian market
- Alfa Romeo has launched the Giulia and Stelvio Edizione Carbonio in Australia.
- The special edition features carbon fiber trim and roomy equipment.
- The company will offer only 33 Giulia and 17 Stelvio units.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio are set to retire, but before that happens, Australian buyers can pick up another limited-edition special edition. Edizione Carbonio models are based on the Veloce trim, adding carbon fiber bits and more standard equipment.
Our readers may be experiencing a sense of deja vu, but the 2023 US-spec Carbon Edition model is based on the Quadrifoglio rather than the Veloce.
Exterior highlights are the carbon fiber finish on the wing mirror caps and the dual-pane panoramic sunroof. In the Giulia sedan, these are joined together by a lip spoiler and illuminated door sills, also made of carbon fiber. The Stelvio, on the other hand, comes with unique Alfa Romeo puddle lights.

Other details shared between the two include Matrix LED headlights, red Brembo calipers, black lettering on the tailgate and a monochromatic Alfa Romeo logo. The Edizione Carbonio model is available in Alpha Red, Alpha White and Volcano Black colours.
Inside, both Alfa models feature a red engine start button (inspired by the Quadrifoglio) on the steering wheel, as well as a matching key cover. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.8-inch infotainment system, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and a host of ADAS.

There are no performance upgrades compared to the Veloce. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, paired exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Stelvio uses the Q4 all-wheel drive system, while the Giulia uses rear-wheel drive. Both benefit from a limited-slip differential on the rear axle.
Production will be limited to 33 units of the Giulia in Edizione Carbonio form and 17 units of the Stelvio, for a total of 50 units, reserved for Australia.

Prices start from AU$79,150 (US$51,200) for the sedan and AU$87,150 (US$56,393) for the SUV, before on-road costs. According to CarExpert, this is AU$4,200 ($2,700) more expensive than the corresponding Veloce trim.
Alfa Romeo sales in Australia are modest, with 716 registrations in 2023, including 365 Tonales. This explains why the 2023 MY Giulia and Stelvio and even some 2022 MY demo cars are still in stock.
