Volkswagen aims to offer ‘value for money’ with Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV with launch of Highline Plus trim level
Volkswagen has brought excitement to Indian SUV buyers with the launch of Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport in April 2024. Now, Volkswagen is trying to bring the same excitement to sedans with the launch of the Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport. With sporty design and looks, the company hopes to boost sales ahead of the festive season.
Volkswagen Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport
As far as pricing is concerned, the Volkswagen Virtus GT range starts at Rs 14.07 lakh (excluding taxes) for the 6-speed manual variant. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport 6-speed manual variant is priced starting at Rs 17.84 lakh (Ex-sh). Volkswagen showed off the black-themed Virtus concept car at its annual brand conference in March 2024.
The Volkswagen Virtus GT Line is powered by a 1L TSI petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Notable features include an electric sunroof, 8-inch digital cockpit, 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights, among others.
Virtus GT Plus Sport is equipped with a 1.5-liter TSI EVO gasoline engine, matched with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox. Notable features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, amplifier and subwoofer in the audio system, 8-inch digital cockpit, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, among others.
Highline Plus trim by Taigun and Virtus
To expand the features of the Highline trim, Volkswagen has introduced the Highline Plus trim with Virtus and Taigun. The company aims to offer “value for money” with the Highline Plus trim, with prices starting at Rs 13.87 lakh (excluding taxes) for the Virtus Highline Plus MT and Rs 14.26 lakh (excluding taxes) for the Taigun Highline Plus MT. Both are powered by 1.0L TSI engines.
