- We recently tested the 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades.
- Before you drive it, we asked you what questions you had about it.
- Now, we provide the answers to these questions here and in a short video.
The Ford Bronco is a boxy off-road SUV with plenty of capability. To find out what it’s like to drive, we put it through a week-long testing in the mountains of Colorado. Before we set out, we asked you what you wanted to know about it. Today, we’re offering those insights, along with a video.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”); } });
To recap, our test car was the Everglades Edition. This model comes with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, 35-inch tires, a locking differential, and a 12-inch infotainment system. The interior also features marine-grade trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats.
How about marine grade vinyl seats?
Honestly, they’re pretty nice in their own right. First, they’re thickly padded, which absorbs some of the impact of bumps in the road. Second, the material itself feels nice to the touch. It’s probably the only thing about the cabin that feels pseudo-luxurious.

Review: The 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades is a hardcore beast worth owning
Can the Everglades graphics be removed?
Sure. It’s just a decal. I can’t guess how hard it would be to remove the residual adhesive from the fenders, though.
Would you compare the performance of premium gasoline to regular gasoline?
window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article’, placement: ‘Mid Article’, target_type: ‘mix’ } );
window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-oc-2×1’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic’, placement: ‘Article mid thumbnail organic’, target_type: ‘mix’ });
One of the main reasons we didn’t test the difference between the two vehicles is that mid-grade fuel in Colorado, where we tested this car, has an octane rating of 87. This is also Ford’s minimum acceptable standard for the Bronco’s 2.3-liter engine. At most gas stations where we test this car, premium fuel has an octane rating of only 91, so the chances of a noticeable difference between the two are too small for such a test.
How’s the fuel economy?
Ford says the SUV returns 18 mpg in the city, 17 on the highway, and an 18 combined score. In mixed driving, which took us to Copper Mountain, Blue Sky Mountain, and Breckenridge Mountain, and into Denver and Colorado Springs, we averaged 17.3 mpg. Considering everything the Bronco does, we consider that normal, if not a little better than expected.
Do you find it annoying to have your windows fall off when entering or exiting your vehicle?
This is largely anecdotal, but “annoying” isn’t a word I’d use. Instead, it feels somewhat appropriate because the Bronco isn’t a highly refined piece of equipment. It’s rough around the edges, and the noticeable window droop when you open the door feels similar. It seems larger than on almost any other car, but if that’s part of Ford’s success in fitting frameless doors on this SUV, I’ll accept it.
How deep can it dive?
As the name implies, the Everglades is meant for getting wet. In Colorado, we couldn’t find a puddle that was both deep and safe, so I looked it up. Ford says the Bronco Everglades can ford up to 36.4 inches of water. That’s deeper than the Bronco Raptor and Jeep Wrangler.
