Over the years, the Toyota Venza has slowly evolved from a stylish tall wagon to a luxury version of the RAV4. Now, it’s going away, and the Crown Signia is taking its place. We had a chance to drive it in the canyons of California, Ask for your questions about this. You did it, now it’s our turn to do the same.

As a quick reminder, the Crown Signia is only available with all-wheel drive, a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower (178 kilowatts), and a continuously variable transmission. It starts at $43,590 and gets up to 38 mpg combined. It’s aimed at high-end Toyota buyers and low-end buyers interested in Lexus. It bridges the gap between the two quite nicely.

Review: The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is a jack of all trades but a master of none

There are a lot of questions here, so let’s start with the interior space and quality. At 6’6″ (198cm) tall, this car isn’t spacious for me. But at the same time, most people will probably like it. Aside from wanting more headroom, I think the cabin strikes a good balance between being too big and too small.

As for quality, it’s pretty close to Lexus. I suspect many Toyota buyers will feel the materials used throughout the cabin aren’t good enough. It’s not perfect, and as we mentioned in our full review above, certain aspects, like the limited seat adjustability, detract from the sense of luxury, but it’s still a good try.

Toyota Crown Signia: Your Questions Answered!

So what about performance?

The next question is about performance. As we mentioned in the video above, it feels faster than the 240 horsepower on paper sounds. In fact, it feels just as fast or even faster than the Camry, which has slightly less power but also weighs less. Braking performance is also excellent, with good modulation and little to no fuss when the regeneration hands over to the mechanical brakes.

Is it spacious?

Several of you asked about the interior and cargo space. Toyota specifically highlighted that there is 6.5 feet of space behind the front seats with the rear seats folded. I regret not taking a photo of me lying in the back to show this, but trust me, it is spacious, offering 68 cubic feet of storage space. The rear seats can also fold completely flat, which is an added bonus. When they are folded, you still have 24.8 cubic feet of rear storage space.

Finally, let’s talk about noise. The cabin is relatively quiet, but there is one big problem…the CVT. As you can hear in the video we shot on site, the transmission can be very loud. Since it’s a CVT, when you need to accelerate, it will keep the revs high until you’re done, and it will be loud the entire time.

Will buyers care enough to stay away from it? We think not, and they probably shouldn’t. The Crown Signia is a very well-balanced car overall. Did we miss any questions you have? Let us know in the comments below and we’ll answer them there!
