Aprilia Tuono 457 launched on Indian website

After launch, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will be equipped with the RS457’s parallel twin-cylinder engine to compete with Yamaha MT-03, KTM 390 Duke and other models

The Indian motorcycle fraternity is always evolving, exploring bikes with a higher performance ceiling. Many buyers upgrade from the 200cc – 250cc class to the 400cc – 450cc class to gain meaningful performance gains. However, for some buyers, the upgrade path is defined by increasing the number of cylinders in a motorcycle’s engine.

There are very few manufacturers that cater to this niche and Aprilia is one of them. Aprilia opens a new chapter in India with the launch of locally manufactured RS 457. Now Aprilia is expanding its 457cc product portfolio with the Tuono 457. The motorcycle is already listed on their website and may be launched soon.

Aprilia Tuono 457 launched

Among the many products displayed by the Piaggio Group at the EICMA 2024 exhibition, one motorcycle stands out and is closely relevant to the Indian market. That motorcycle is the Tuono 457, the street-naked version of the popular and attractively priced Aprilia RS 457. It’s cheaper than the RS 457 due to its styling and style.

Now, the company has listed the Tuono 457 on its official website. It’s in the Heroes section at the top with a “Discover More” button. The button is still inactive, and the hero section doesn’t yet lead to a dedicated page. So it’s still a work in progress, but it’s likely to be rolled out soon.

Just like the RS 457, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will be produced at Piaggio’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Baramati, Maharashtra. When launched, it will rival the likes of the Yamaha MT-03 and KTM 390 Duke. Considering it has been listed on the official website, the launch could be just around the corner.

Strong family genes

In terms of design, the Aprilia Tuono 457 looks like a smaller Tuono 660, which is not a bad thing in any sense. It has a muscular tank guard that extends downward, providing plenty of muscle. The eye-catching LED headlight and LED DRL logo, muscular USD front fork, manly fuel tank, exposed frame, and sporty rear are eye-catching.

We’ve got wide, street-style handlebars with advanced switchgear that controls the TFT digital instrument cluster, complete with features like Bluetooth connectivity. The 457cc parallel twin-cylinder engine produces 47 hp and 43.5 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. A two-way quick shifter will be optional, while a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, TCS and other features will be standard.

Components include USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock suspension setup, front and rear single disc brake setups and 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The front end uses 110-section tires and the rear uses 150-section tires. We can expect it to get attractive color options to further enhance its appeal.
