Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger Edition marks the brand’s 60th anniversary

Aston Martin has launched the DB12 Goldfinger Edition to commemorate its 60-year relationship with the iconic James Bond spy series. The anniversary model, of which 60 units will be produced, is inspired by the first Aston Martin DB5 featured in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. Similar to the original model, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition features the famous silver birch exterior color scheme. It has silver 21-inch wheels, black brake calipers, gold side panels and a unique Aston Martin badge engraved in silver and black enamel.

Inside, the super tourer features leather sports seats with traditional DB5 groove styling and Prince of Wales check perforated pattern. The running boards, headliner and door inserts all share the same design. According to Aston Martin, this is a reference to James Bond’s iconic suit design. The Bond model also features an “Eight of Hearts” embossed on the driver’s visor, a nod to the playing cards used in the final poolside lottery scene shot in Miami.

Other highlights include 18K gold-plated interior trim, polished door sill trims with Goldfinger’s 60th anniversary logo, and a notched gear selector modeled after a track unit. Under the bonnet, the model features a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 662bhp at 6000rpm and 799Nm of torque at 2750-6000rpm.

While pricing for the exclusive model is currently under wraps, Aston Martin says the lucky 60 buyers of the vehicle will receive a variety of gifts, including a Silver Birch Speedform model, a premium key presentation box and personalized car cover, gold Fingers a 35mm film clip of the famous Furka Pass scene, and a 1/60 platinum special edition Aston Martin magazine. It is worth noting that these gifts will be delivered to the car owners in a Globe-Trotter briefcase that looks similar to the car, with Prince of Wales check on the interior and silver birch on the exterior.

Additionally, owners will receive a custom Globe-Trotter flight case, which includes a bottle of 2007 vintage Bollinger Champagne and four specially numbered Bollinger 007 glasses.
