Audi sells iconic racing cars like the R18 and RS5 DTM

These two are just the first of many real racing cars to be available

The brand is launching a new program that gives enthusiasts the opportunity to have real, competitively tested racing cars, recover and prepare to drive. It’s not just any old leftovers from the paddock. Audi started things with two machines that once stood on the podium.

This new adventure is known as the Audi sports racing legend, which sounds like this: Selling old racing cars to everyday people. Well, maybe not just anyone with cash, because Audi has a selective attitude to who gets the keys to these cars. They are looking for special buyers who appreciate the legacy, not just horsepower.

Two famous cars are being sold and it is launching the program. Perhaps the most special thing is the 207 chassis of the R18 E-Tron Quattro. This precision car won the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship WEC at Spa-Francorchamps. It won the exact car of Le Mans in 2012, but it’s in the same type.

Before they go to their new home, the cars will be displayed at several events in Germany from July 3 to 6: in Germany, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​in the UK from July 10 to 13. Sales are expected to start later this year.
