Audi’s flagship SQ9 is coming soon BMW X7 and Mercedes

Audi is working on the top Q9 crossover, and spy photographers have caught the upcoming S variant. It’s a performance-focused three-row crossover that will presumably fight the premium versions of the BMW X7 and Mercedes GL.

The prototype was tested in Europe and has a large grid grille flanked by split lighting units. Their lower intake spans almost the entire width of the vehicle.

Moving backwards, we can see the curved but universal body. The designers also provided the model with spacious greenhouse and Ford Mustang cell phone-style door handles, which sits on the upward sweeping line. Elsewhere, there are considerable wheels and relatively flat roofs.

The rear end isn’t particularly interesting, but it has a four-tail exhaust system as well as a small diffuser. They join together with wide reflectors, modest spoilers, and taillights that appear to be Boomerand-shaped.

Unfortunately, the model echoes the Q7, which makes it difficult for them to separate. However, a closer inspection shows many differences, including longer back doors and wider Q3 glass. More notably, the Q7 has lift door mounting plate grooves, while the Q9 is located on the rear bumper. It’s hardly a difference between daytime and daytime, but hopefully there are more changes hidden in the disguise.

Audi has been nervous about the Q9 lineup, but we wouldn’t be surprised if we ride on a premium platform burn and carry a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 in the S camouflage. We can also expect the plug-in hybrid variant and the price tag to match their flagship status.
