Audi has quietly announced plans to cancel the “current” version of its car rental program, Audi on Demand, which dates back to 2012 as Silvercar.
Silvercar initially focused on leasing the A4, and Audi invested $28 million in the company in 2016. The automaker acquired the company two years later and rebranded the service as Audi on Demand in 2022.

Following this history, Audi announced that its rental car service would cease operations on September 30 and that “no reservations will be accepted or honored after that date.” A message on the website went on to thank customers for their “understanding and continued support,” while hinting that Audi on Demand might eventually be restored at some point.
It’s unclear what led to the closure, but the dealer-backed service, which is available in Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Kentucky and Massachusetts, touts app-based reservations and same-day service, as well as rental periods ranging from four hours to 30 days.
While most attempts to check prices show no availability, Audi North Austin is still renting vehicles, with the Q7 available for $108 per day. The A5 Sportback and Q5 Sportback are listed as unavailable, but they are available for $88 and $110 per day, respectively.
These three cars appear to make up the rental fleet, which is interesting because Audi recently launched new models of the A5 and Q5. The Q7, on the other hand, was recently facelifted and will be redesigned in the near future.
