in short On October 1, 2024, the UAE government issued Federal Decree No. 38 of 2024 to regulate medical products, pharmacy professions and pharmaceutical establishments ("law"). The Law replaces the Federal Law of 2019 on medical products, pharmacy professions and pharmaceutical establishments, including its later amendments (hereinafter referred to as, "Federal Laws 2019"). However, its implementing regulations remain valid to the extent that they are not inconsistent with the law. The law was first published on the UAE government website on December 29, 2024. The law was published in the Official Gazette on October 14, 2024, and published on January 8, 2025. It comes into effect on January 2, 2025 (""Effective date"). Entities and individuals covered by the applicable law are granted a grace period of one year from the effective date to make necessary changes to comply with its provisions.
