FLTEF announces new additions to UFLPA entity list

The Biden administration’s Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF) has recently increased enforcement efforts against imports from Chinese entities related to forced labor in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. On Friday, November 22, 2024, twenty-nine (29) companies were added to the Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Act (UFLPA) Entity List, bringing the total number of companies to over 100. This latest announcement marks the largest expansion by a company on the list of prohibited entities. The UFLPA may ban companies on the UFLPA Entity List from importing goods into the United States as part of a broader strategy to counter China’s unfair trade practices. The law, signed by President Biden in 2021, targets imports from Xinjiang, a region known for producing cotton, tomatoes and solar panel components and accused of human rights abuses against Uighurs and other ethnic minorities.
