The vehicle is assembled at a factory in San Jose, California, not far from where we live. My wife drove the car every day from 1986 (when we purchased the vehicle for $3,000 with 41,000 miles on it) until 2013 when she purchased a new car. Unfortunately, the Mustang sat idle until last year, when I decided to inspect the entire car to see if it was worth salvaging. I was trying to sell an extra 454 engine I own on Facebook and an ad popped up that was only 10 hours old for an original 1969 Chevy with a 350/350 hp engine and automatic transmission Corvette cars. The buyer was a guy in Tucson, Arizona and I had the car shipped to him. This is quite painful. Later, knowing I was going to Tucson for a business trip, I contacted the owner and hoped to visit my old car while in town. The following week I purchased the last 1971 DS with directional headlights from the Citroën dealer on Ste-Catherine Street in Montreal and traded it in for my 1968 Mustang GT. The 1972 Citroën models had just arrived and unfortunately on these new models Citroën complied with US regulations prohibiting the use of directional headlights and installed standard headlights which in my opinion ruined the 1972 DS model The front of the car. Especially the one I own, which was intimidating on the street and a huge killer back in the day. The car is a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, 700 of which were made. I bought the 1970 Swinger from Menlove Dodge in Bountiful, Utah for $2,970.
