MG Windsor EV: Full price (vehicle plus battery)

JSW-MG Motor created a stir last week when it launched the Windsor electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV) at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. However, this price also comes with several issues. They are 1. The price tag of the base model of Windsor EV without the battery 2. The entry price 3. There are no clear details on how the Battery as a Service (BAAS) subscription model will work. While we are still unclear about the BAAS model, we can now confirm to you that the full price of Windsor (EV plus battery) will be announced early next week. Dealer sources revealed that all three variants of MG Windsor EV will be available for full payment. This means customers can pay full price/buy the EV as a single unit (vehicle plus battery) without opting for the BAAS scheme. This is how most people in India buy their cars and the MG Windsor EV will also be available in…

Tata Curvv.EV is a true highway electric car: we explain

The just-launched Tata Curvv.EV changes all that. It’s the first truly highway-friendly electric car from an Indian automaker, and it actually outperforms many foreign EVs sold in India in that regard. The top-end variant of the Tata Curvv.EV comes with a giant 55 kWh battery (the largest battery in an Indian-made EV), giving it a claimed range of 585 km. Well, the claimed range is obviously not something that most EV owners cannot achieve. Which brings us to the actual range of the Tata Curvv.EV. 425 km of actual range About 75% of Tata Curvv.EV owners get about 425 km of range out of the 55 kWh battery pack on a single charge. Tata Motors calls this range C75. Imagine you could go from Bangalore, Mysore, and Bangalore again on a single charge and still have some juice left. You could go from Delhi to Jaipur and back without having to stop anywhere to charge your Curvv.EV. Similarly, Mumbai to…

Twin-cylinder Royal Enfield Himalayan spied: But it’s a

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 has been on the wish list of motorcycle enthusiasts ever since the 650 twin-cylinder engine was launched in 2018. More than five years later, a test bike that looks like a twin-cylinder Himalayan has been spotted testing. Most automotive publications call it the Himalayan 650, but is it really that? Before we get into the details of what this all-new Royal Enfield could or should look like, let's take a look at the spy photos. Spy photos provided by Motorbeam From the spy photos, the motorcycle seems to be a high-riding adventure motorcycle with Dakar Rally inspiration. Since it is a Royal Enfield, how can retro style be outdated? Take a look, its semi-fairing is quite slim and not much different from the fairings of similar-looking adventure motorcycles such as the Aprilia Tuareg 660, Yamaha Tenere 700 and the old Ducati Desert X. The motorcycle, at least in camouflage, looks slimmer than the Himalayan 450,…
