AutoHunter Spotlight: 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GT

“This is a sports car No one can beat it,” Pontiac said of the 1994 Firebird Trans Am. Priced at $20,319, the car has an impressive list of features, especially when it comes to safety. These include driver and passenger Airbags, anti-theft key systems, anti-lock disc brakes and safety cage structures “Suddenly the rest of the world’s sports cars have a lot to answer for,” one ad reads.

Featured on AutoHunter, The online auction platform powered by ClassicCars.com is this 33K-Mile 25th 1994 Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am. The car is being sold by a dealer in Palmetto, Florida, and the auction will end on Monday.

The odometer shows the car has only traveled 33,591 miles and is one of 1,825 total 25 cars builtth Anniversary coupe built for this model year. According to a window sticker I found similar to the car, the anniversary package has a new-car add-on of $995, bringing the Firebird’s total retail price to $23,769. When it comes to value for money, it’s a compelling performance car.

The fourth-generation Firebird was first introduced in 1993, alongside its F-body sibling, the Chevrolet Camaro. Both are made in Quebec, Canada. The following year, 25th The Anniversary Edition adds a gloss white exterior and what Pontiac calls an “Aero Appearance Package.” Fog lamps, blue accent stripes, color-matched white 16-inch wheels, removable T-top, rear spoiler and anniversary badging round out the exterior.

Stepping into the cockpit, the two-plus-two seats are upholstered in perforated white leather with “25 Trans Am” embroidered on the seat backs. Amenities include air conditioning, articulating bucket seats, full instrumentation, power windows and door locks, cruise control and power hatch release. Pontiac was famous for its push-button controls in the 1980s and ’90s, but this Firebird is limited to basic functions. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls were an advanced feature for the time, and the Delco AM/FM tape had a built-in equalizer and 10 speakers.

Collectors will be pleased to see that the CARFAX is as clean as ever and has been accident-free in New York, New Jersey and Florida. According to records, the car traveled 31,453 miles in 2015, so it has only traveled about 2,000 miles in the decade since.

In other words, the 5.7-liter V8 still has a lot of life left in it. The new motor is initially rated at 275 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. According to CARFAX, an oil change was performed in April 2024.

The Trans Am GT was a great value when it came out in 1994, and it’s an even better collector’s opportunity today – especially in the limited-production trim levels and low mileage. Don’t miss your chance to pick up this product!
