A dealership in Sarasota, Florida, is selling this brand new C5, and the auction ends on Tuesday.
Since its introduction in 1953, the Corvette has been an undisputed American icon. It has been a favorite of generations of performance car enthusiasts, and even in modern times, the car’s momentum continues: According to sales data released by General Motors, a total of 53,785 Corvettes were delivered in the United States in 2023. About half of them were coupes and half were convertibles. This is the second best sales year in the history of the Corvette.
The 50 shares the same Y-body platform as the rest of the fifth-generation Corvette.day The Anniversary Edition is a popular choice for the 2003 model year, and for good reason. Its new additions include special “Anniversary Red Metallic” paint, champagne-colored wheels, a shale-colored leather interior with special embroidery, and other modern niceties like a head-up display, memory seats, a 12-disc CD changer, and a Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC) suspension setup.
The CARFAX for today’s car is pretty interesting. The car was owned by Pennsylvania until 2019, and it took about 16 years to get its first 900 miles on it. Then, in the last five years, since moving to Florida, the mileage has roughly doubled. Aside from a couple of emissions checks, maintenance history is minimal (understandably). From a mileage perspective, even after 21 years, the car isn’t even ready for its first oil change. Power comes from a potent LS1 5.7-liter V8 rated at 350 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque when new.
