The Competition Orange pony car is one of only 73 cars produced this year in this color. But that bright color is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to its special equipment: the high-performance formula also adds grippy Recaro seats, adjustable struts, a rear stabilizer bar, Brembo brake discs and a quad-outlet exhaust system. Best of all, the car’s odometer shows only 12,797 miles and no modifications.

The “S197” generation Mustang was originally designed by Sid Ramnarace and was sold from 2005 to 2014. Although born in Canada, Ramnarace worked with Ford in Dearborn, Michigan, to develop many influential vehicle designs, including the 11th-generation Thunderbird, Edge sport utility vehicle and the popular third-generation Explorer.

During the S197 Mustang era, a “Boss 302” high-performance variant was introduced as a revival of the 1960s nameplate. Power comes from a high-performance 5.0-liter V8 rated at 444 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Control is via an MT-82 six-speed manual transmission and a solid rear axle with a limited-slip differential. The Boss 302 powertrain has several enhancements that set it apart from the standard Mustang: these include CNC machined heads, modified camshafts, short-runner composite intake manifold, lightened valvetrain components, solid lifters and Forged aluminum pistons.

Reports from CARFAX indicate that the low-mileage racehorse started at Mossy Ford in San Diego, California, and eventually made its way east to Florida (and later Michigan) in 2021. The most recent odometer reading was 12,797 in July 2024. According to records, the car has been well maintained throughout its life: there are 19 records, most of which were recorded by the dealer.
