2024 autoX Awards: The beauty of the autoX Awards judging panel is its unique testing methodology, where a variety of two-wheelers – whether it’s a 600cc supersport bike, a 400cc street bike or a 110cc scooter – are pushed to their limits. Among the contestants this year is TVS’s new Jupiter 110, which has updated styling, functionality, safety and enhanced performance.
Undeniably, the Jupiter 110’s standout features are its improved design, extensive feature list and practicality. In my opinion, its styling is the cleanest and most understated in its class. It comes with features like full LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster, USB charging ports and a generous 33 liters of under-seat storage, all of which work in its favour.
The Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine derived from its larger sibling, the Jupiter 125. The engine produces 7.9bhp and 9.8Nm of peak torque. It also comes with a larger battery and an integrated starter generator (ISG) motor for a temporary boost in performance. The engine’s smooth and brisk power output is its biggest highlight. It accelerates effortlessly from a standstill, climbing the entire rev range with steady, progressive power delivery. This feature allows BIC to easily keep the scooter at its performance limits.

Another aspect of the Jupiter 110 that impressed the jury was its handling. With a curb weight of just 105kg, the scooter feels incredibly light and responsive. While its performance doesn’t match that of more powerful machines, it gives you plenty of time to choose the precise route that Jupiter will follow to the tee. Its stability at high speeds is also commendable thanks to its 1,275mm wheelbase. Additionally, while its suspension is on the firmer side, it soaks up rough patches well but remains calm and stable even if you give it some rough treatment while feeling a bit adventurous. Overall, while there’s a lot you might like about Jupiter, there’s not much that sets it apart, causing it to lose key X-factor points in the process.
