The two SUVs will be available in two battery pack options – 59kWh and 79kWh – using LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry. Power output ranges from 231 bhp to 286 bhp, depending on the application.

More powerful than Curvv EV and e Vitara

The upcoming Mahindra electric SUV will be more powerful compared to the Tata Curvv EV which comes with 45kWh (147 bhp/215 Nm) and 55kWh (165 bhp/215 Nm) front axle-mounted electric motors. Additionally, they will outperform the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara, which is expected to come with 49kWh (142 bhp in 2WD) and 61kWh (171 bhp in 2WD and 181 bhp in AWD) battery options.

Battery charging time

Mahindra’s new electric SUV will only come with a rear-axle-mounted motor. However, speculations suggest that the Mahindra BE 6e may come with an AWD system with a dual-motor setup that is expected to offer higher power and torque output. The battery pack will support DC fast charging up to 175kW, charging from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. Both the XEV 9e and BE 9e will be equipped with semi-active suspension systems and brake-by-wire technology. They will also offer multiple driving modes.
