Earlier this month, Bentley unveiled plans for its much-anticipated debut in the electric vehicle segment, which will come in the form of a “luxury city SUV.” According to a teaser released by the brand, the new model will be smaller than the Bentayga, but will also be more stylish. The front end immediately stands out from the larger Bentayga, as it draws inspiration from the limited-edition Mulliner Batur exclusive that Bentley launched a few years ago. It has the same grille, air intakes and the same stylish headlights as other Bentleys, but in a more oval shape.
The door skins of the Audi Q6 e-tron have also received significant changes, now featuring bold new creases and black skirts. The Bentley’s rear three-quarters are pretty sexy too, with a pair of slim taillights, a prominent roof spoiler and blackened bumpers. However, the tailgate, with just the Bentley badge, looks a bit bare and would have benefited from having “Bentley” lettering as well.
Bentley is keeping details of its upcoming luxury city SUV under wraps, but we do know it will be part of the brand’s wider wave of electric vehicles. The British carmaker plans to launch a new BEV or PHEV every year from 2026 to 2035, with the aim of transitioning to a fully BEV range by the end of that period.
It’s worth noting that Bentley originally aimed to become an all-electric brand by 2030, but that timeline was recently pushed back to reflect slower growth in the EV market
So, what do you think of Bentley’s electric ambitions? Is adding electric SUVs the right move, or should we take a different path? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
