Bharat Mobile Expo 2025: Yamaha FZ-S Fi hybrid debuts

Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: At the Auto Expo 2025, Yamaha launched a slew of exciting models, many of which are unlikely to make it to India. Still, the presentation highlighted the brand’s impressive engineering and innovation, reminding bike enthusiasts, especially millennials, of Yamaha’s technological excellence. India’s first hybrid motorcycle 2025 FZ-S Fi is the main highlight of Yamaha’s exhibition hall. The model on display is the high-spec DLX model, with an additional power boost provided by an integrated starter generator (ISG). For the uninitiated, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is an entry-level commuter motorcycle designed specifically for the Asian market, equipped with a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. Hybrid systems enhance acceleration from a standstill, improve fuel efficiency, and help reduce emissions, especially during low rpm where most pollutants are generated.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Engine details and hardware setup

Mechanically, the 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 12.2bhp of maximum power and 13.3Nm of peak torque, mated to a five-speed gearbox. It features a mild-hybrid assist system that temporarily boosts torque output, providing a surge of power.

The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking system consists of 282mm front discs and 220mm rear discs, both equipped with single-channel ABS. The bike comes with 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and has a curb weight of 139kg.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Features

The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid features a newly designed color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for functions such as call and notification alerts, music control, and updated switchgear to manage these functions. In addition, the FZ-S Hybrid is also equipped with LED indicators, traction control system and single-channel ABS, which enhances the safety factor of the model.

As far as market competition is concerned, the competitors of Yamaha models include Hero Xtreme 160R and Bajaj Pulsar 150.
