Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: India’s Tata Motors launched the all-electric SUV Tata Harrier EV at the Indian Auto Expo 2025. The Harrier EV is based on the Harrier model and marks Tata’s entry into the mid-size electric SUV market, including an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Set to launch later this year, it features modern technology, improved performance and design updates that set it apart from the internal combustion engine (ICE) version. Tata Motors aims to strengthen its presence in the growing electric vehicle segment. Pricing and more details will be announced in the coming months.
Tata Harrier EV: Design
Harrier EV features an all-new design incorporating key EV-specific elements. The front uses a closed grille and connected LED DRL light strip, replacing the traditional grille on ICE models. New bumpers add to the modern look.

From the side, the Harrier EV retains the same shape as the ICE version but includes aerodynamically optimized 5-spoke alloy wheels and EV badges on the front doors to highlight its electric identity.
At the rear, the SUV features LED taillights, a shark fin antenna and a roof spoiler. It also includes ‘Harrier EV’ badging on the tailgate, redesigned bumpers and silver skid plates.
Tata Harrier EV: Powertrain
The Harrier EV features an all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which is a significant upgrade compared to the ICE model. This is the first Tata car in many years to offer all-wheel drive, powered by a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle for better traction and performance.

While the full specifications are yet to be announced, Tata has confirmed that the Harrier EV will offer 500 Nm of peak torque. More details, including power output, battery capacity and range, will be announced closer to the vehicle’s official launch.
