Colorado Springs, Colorado——The USA Judo 2025 Senior National Championships will be held on May 24-25 in Birmingham, Alabama. More than 600 people are expected to attend. The Shiai competition will be held on Saturday, May 24, and the Kata Nationals will be held on Sunday, May 25.
“We are excited to travel to Birmingham for next year’s Senior National Championships,” said Keith Bryant, CEO of USA Judo. “Birmingham has become a premier sporting events destination and we know our members will love the event, the venue and all the entertainment options nearby.”
The game will be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center (BJCC), Alabama’s largest events, convention and entertainment center. The center includes a 45,000-seat stadium, a 15,500-seat arena, 220,000 square feet of exhibition space, and two 4,000-seat theaters. In 2024, Sports Business Journal ranked Birmingham third in the country for sports events among cities without a “Big Five” professional team.
“We are extremely excited to welcome the 2025 USA Judo Senior National Team to Birmingham,” said John Oros, president and CEO of the Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This prestigious event will showcase incredible athletic talent while giving participants and fans the opportunity to experience our city’s rich history, vibrant culture and iconic Southern hospitality. As the premier sporting event destination, Birmingham has a proven track record of hosting world-class competitions and we are excited to continue this tradition through our partnership with USA Judo. We look forward to launching the mat and providing a memorable experience for everyone who attends.”
