BMA House hosts Global Excellence Awards for seventh year »

Last week, the Global Good Awards (GGA) were held at BMA House. This is the seventh year that BMA House has hosted this major event, either in person or virtually (due to COVID-19).

The GGA recognizes the pioneering work of global businesses, NGOs, charities and social enterprises in sustainability and ethical leadership. Founded in 2015, GGA is known for rewarding leaders who create tangible impact in the real world that is scalable and replicable. It was therefore natural that BMA House, known for its sustainable practices, would be the venue for their annual ceremony.

During the event, Hannah Robinson presented the Education Excellence Award to the Enactus UK Next Generation Leaders Programme.

BMA House’s positive attitude towards sustainability and numerous environmental initiatives make it a preferred venue for events such as the GGA. Over the past four years, BMA House has reduced its carbon footprint by 69% and aims to become carbon neutral by 2030. Helping customers reduce their environmental impact through initiatives such as a zero-waste food policy, green menus featuring locally grown produce and a carbon calculator, BMA House is a leader in hosting eco-friendly events.

BMA House won first place in the sustainability category at the London Venue Awards and has held Green Tourism Gold certification since 2017, embodying the sustainability principles represented by the Global Good Awards.

In addition to the awards ceremony itself, last week’s events included networking sessions, live music, a drinks reception and a three-course seated meal. Drinks reception including biodynamic/sustainable wine and canapés using leftover vegetables from food waste charity Waste Knot, The three-course meal is entirely plant-based (provided by BMA House’s in-house caterer, Company of Cooks).

GGA has booked BMA House to host the 2025 awards ceremony, which will be held on the 24thth September.

It was also revealed this week that BMA House has retained Greengage’s Platinum ECOsmart status.
