BMW is all set to launch its much-anticipated CE 02 electric scooter in India on October 1. The urban mobility solution promises to offer a stylish and eco-friendly mobility experience, targeting a young and vibrant demographic. The CE 02 sports a futuristic design, high-performance features, and an impressive battery life, making it a major player in the growing electric vehicle market. BMW CE 02: Design and features
In terms of design, the BMW model will feature a sleek and minimalist design with a flat one-piece seat, LED headlights, a small sun visor and a gold USD front fork. In terms of features, it will include a 3.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as keyless ride, automatic stability control, electric reverse, single-channel ABS and USB-C charging.
BMW CE 02: Specifications in detail
The new BMW CE 02 is equipped with an air-cooled, current-excited synchronous motor. It is powered by two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries, each with a voltage of 48 V and an energy capacity of 1.96 kWh. The model can deliver a maximum power of 15 bhp and a peak torque of 55 Nm. In the dual-battery configuration, a range of 108 km is said to be achievable, with a top speed of 95 km/h. The seat height of the scooter is 745 mm and it weighs 142 kg. Charging from 0 to 100 percent takes 5 hours and 12 minutes using a standard 0.9 kW charger, while an optional 1.5 kW fast charger can reduce the time to 3 hours and 30 minutes.

BMW CE 02: Hardware
The India-spec CE 02 will come with USD forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. It will be equipped with 239 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc brakes. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with 120/80 section tyres at the front and 150/70 section tyres at the rear. Also, two riding modes will be available at the launch, namely Flow and Surf.
The scooter is expected to be priced higher, reflecting the brand’s reputation. It will be positioned below the recently launched CE 04 and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. The company has officially started accepting bookings for the CE 02.
