BMW unveils most powerful hybrid yet: BMW M5

Recently, BMW launched the M5 in India, which is the most powerful M-series hybrid model to date.

BMW has launched the seventh-generation M5 in India, priced at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model uses a plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain, making it the most powerful M5 yet. Notably, it is priced higher than the previous generation, which was launched in 2021 for Rs 162 crore.

Engine and performance
The new M5 combines 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine It has an integrated electric motor inside eight-speed automatic transmission. The combined output provided by this setup 727 HP and 1,000Nm torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels via BMW’s rear bias xDrive all-wheel drive system. Despite the weight increase of approx. 2.5 tonsM5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250km/hcan be extended to 305km/h Comes with optional M driver package. this 18.6kWh battery provided a Pure electric cruising range up to 69 kilometers And supports AC charging up to 7.4kW.

The seventh-generation M5 is equipped with a number of technology enhancements to improve driving dynamics and efficiency. It comes standard with adaptive suspension and rear-wheel steering, which enhances its handling and stability. The plug-in hybrid system offers a variety of driving modes:
