BMW's Neue Klasse Touring looks like a good candidate for victory, don't you think?

BMW is ushering in a new era of bold design with its Neue Klasse electric cars, with six planned for release over the next few years. Two concept cars showcase this striking new design language, and while they look good, neither is as attractive as the Neue Klasse Touring from Sugar Design.

The talented designer first set out to transform the original Neue Klasse sedan concept into a wagon late last year, but only rendered it from the rear. Since then, the full gallery has been produced in two styles. Both styles have us excited about the possibilities of this stunning 3 Series Touring.

The two models are nearly identical. However, the silver model in the photos has ditched the concept’s slanted LED daytime running lights in favor of four angel eyes. While these were cool a decade ago, they’re no longer common, but we think they’re definitely appropriate for a wagon like this. The red model’s daytime running lights are the same as the concept, and look closer to what we’ll eventually see on the Neue Klasse production model.

In the process of converting the original show car into a wagon, some more subtle changes were made. For example, Sugar Design slightly lowered the height of the side windows, ensuring that the bottom of the side windows was flush with the shoulder line. Different wheels were also added, as well as black rocker panels.

The silver car also features regular side mirrors, while the red car has a rear camera. Both cars also feature a large panoramic glass roof. While we wouldn’t say this new BMW wagon is the best looking car in its class, it’s certainly an improvement over the designs BMW has been using for the past decade.
