- BrightDrop will be part of the Chevrolet lineup by 2025.
- The move means Chevy dealers will be able to sell and service the electric vans, which should make them more attractive.
- Since they were now Chevrolets, the vans adopted bowtie badges and slightly revised names.
GM is no stranger to owning too many brands, not too long ago the company owned Pontiac, Saturn, Saab, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Holden, Geo, Opel and Vauxhall. Since parting ways with those brands the company has focused on Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC.

It was a surprise when BrightDrop was launched as a subsidiary in 2021. It didn’t make much sense, and GM finally realized that as they folded the brand into Chevrolet.

The move is a no-brainer, and Chevrolet says it “gives customers access to one of the largest and most extensive commercial sales and service networks in the industry and enhances brand growth opportunities.” Regarding the latter, all Chevrolet dealers will have the opportunity to sell BrightDrop vans as long as they meet certain requirements. These dealers can also sell BrightDrop vehicles, which should make them more attractive due to the larger sales and service network.

That’s a huge development, since BrightDrop only lists seven dealers for 2024. They are located in California, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, and New Jersey.
As part of the conversion, the BrightDrop Zevo 400 becomes the Chevrolet BrightDrop 400, while the BrightDrop Zevo 600 is now the Chevrolet BrightDrop 600. The vans also adopt Chevrolet badging, and we can see a slightly revised grille and a new bowtie logo.
In addition to a new name and badge, the vans are also benefiting from model year updates. Those updates appear to include cross-traffic automatic emergency braking and front pedestrian and bicycle braking, as those features are listed as “new for 2025.”
“With the addition of BrightDrop to the Chevrolet lineup, we are combining advanced electric vehicle technology with Chevrolet’s unique reliability and broad availability,” said Scott Bell, Chevrolet vice president of sales and marketing. “This move strengthens our electric vehicle lineup and reaffirms our position as a leading commercial brand that enables businesses large and small to get work done.”
