On August 15, 2024, British brand BSA Motorcycles will officially debut in India with the Gold Star 650. Originally known as the Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA), the company was founded in 1861 and initially focused on producing guns. It entered the motorcycle market in 1903 and released its first model in 1910. Since its relaunch two years ago, BSA has expanded its presence to 23 countries in Europe and the UK. With the arrival of BSA Motorcycles in India, Classic Legends, the manufacturer of Yezdi and Jawa motorcycles, will also join the three companies. The upcoming model will enable Classic Legends, owned by Mahindra, to challenge the 650cc Royal Enfield motorcycle. The price of the motorcycle will be kept secret until Independence Day. However, it is expected to be very expensive. Here is what we expect from the Gold Star 650.

BSA Gold Star 650: Styling and Functionality
In terms of design, the classic BSA Gold Star from the 1960s is very similar to the modern Gold Star 650. It’s hard to tell them apart at first glance. It’s reminiscent of the previous model, with spoke-style wheels, a round headlight with daytime running lights (DRL) and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Another nostalgic element is the round analogue dials with inverted readouts. With its replica cooling fins, vintage-style crankcases, carefully positioned BSA logos and traditional “Gold Star” peashooter exhaust, the engine is designed to give it a “modern classic” look. All in all, the Gold Star 650 successfully embodies the essence of retro styling. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12 litres and weighs 213 kg. The model also features an integrated seat, an engine immobiliser, the signature dual-pod instrument cluster and a USB charging port.
