The Hycross is available with a choice of two engines: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated (NA) gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder strong hybrid configuration. When combined with the e-CVT gearbox, the powerful hybrid system produces 183bhp, with 188Nm of torque from the engine and 206Nm from the electric motor. In comparison, the petrol-only version is equipped with a CVT gearbox and produces 173 hp and 209 Nm of peak torque. The car has a driving range of 1,208 kilometers.

In their respective range-topping variants, both cars feature dual digital displays, power driver’s seat with memory function, wireless phone mirroring, comprehensive LED lighting setup, Level 2 ADAS and a power tailgate. However, the eMax 7 is available in six- and seven-seat configurations, while the premium variant of the Hycross is limited to a six-seat setup, offering a more luxurious experience. These include amenities such as ottoman functionality, boss packages and tray tables.

In terms of safety, both cars come equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, three-point seat belts, ISOFIX child seat anchors, 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic detection.
