Can the $147K Corvette Z06 beat the $371K Maserati MC20?

These two supercars from the US and Italy have wedge-shaped, illusory performance, but no others

Can the $147K Corvette Z06 beat the $371K Maserati MC20?
  • The Corvette Z06 and Maserati MC20 Cielo have just stood out in the fierce U-Drag competition.
  • The results are surprising given the large price gap between the two supercars.
  • They also prove that car performance is easier to obtain than ever before.

Two of the world’s best-looking supercars have just competed in the U-Drag race. The Maserati MC20 Cielo and Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 have some serious power, exotic styling and over 200 mph (320 km/h). In this game, they dragged the game and then had to turn around as quickly as possible and return to the original starting line. In the two matches held here, the winners are decisive.

The Maserati MC 20 Cielo entered the fight with 621 horsepower (463 kW) and 538 lb-ft (728 nm) of torque and got torque from the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. These numbers are interesting because of Corvette’s bookshelf. It has more horsepower, 670 hp (499 kW), but has less torque, 460 lb-ft (622 nm). Each utilizes an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The big difference comes in the form of weight and pricing. Maserati puts the scales to a scale of just over 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg), while the Chevrolet weighs only 3,715 pounds (1,685 kg). Also, you have to pay a lot more for Maserati. The Italians in this battle cost $371,450. Corvette is a modest (which does expand the meaning of the word here) $147,800.

In both matches, MC20 is struggling to match the Corvette launch. As Corvette enters the brake zone faster, making it faster and faster, and then wins every game without much effort, the gap changes dramatically throughout the game. The Z06 even extended the gap in the back of the game. Also remember, the driver switch between drivers of each car.

That’s right, less than half the price of American supercars Italians smoke in the hands of different drivers (not once, but twice). It is worth noting that Maserati does have a few things to stop it. First, it runs on Bridgestone tires, which are not considered like Michelin on the Corvette. Secondly, don’t forget about weight fines.

Hopefully we’ll have a chance to see the same game, but with the MC20 on the fixed top it weighs almost exactly the same as the Z06. Will the results be different in this case? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
