Choice of the day: 1940 Ford Luxury

Are you a Ford fan or a Chevrolet fan? With this car, you both can.

The choice for the day was the 1940 Ford two-door sedan, which was listed for sale in a private seller in Tustin, California, on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to view the list)

The car’s water-colored look evokes the atmosphere of tropical water… It’s a suitable shade, a car cruising along the California waterfront coast. Maybe you can incorporate the scenic Pacific Coast Expressway into your purchase plan!

The list outlines many external, internal and mechanical updates already included when the so-called “Resto-Rod” process is processed. The car reportedly started life with a luxurious trim level, with the seller noting that it has steel components made of steel, front fenders, doors, running boards and trunks. The rear fender is made of fiberglass composite material, and the front and rear highlights are of course redone.

Indoors, the facilities include barrel seats with gray vinyl inserts, blank sizes with VDO instruments, Sony audio system and three-point seat belts for the former passengers. Another big draw is that the car has an old-fashioned air climate control system, so it is ready for four seasons of cruise.

A magazine ad for the 1940 Ford model says, “Announced the 1940 new Ford car – there are 22 important improvements.” Then spelled the improvements in the bullet at the bottom of the sheet. Among them: new controlled ventilation, more legroom, quieter operation, “floating edge” seat cushions, improved brake drums, new dashboard and battery condition indicators. Talk about advanced!

Here, GM fans can start to get excited: Under the hood is the Chevrolet-sourced 350CI small piece V8. It is available through a four-barrel carburetor and is upgraded to include an Edelbrock intake manifold, Chrome Engine Dressing, billet fan and belt drive, electric cooling fans and ceramic-coated headers. The power supply is sent to the rear wheels via a turbocharged 350 three-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch differential.

With the appearance of Ford and Chevy’s Power, this car does a great job of blending them together – it adds some benefits like air conditioning. It’s hard for you to build a car like this from the ground as the seller asks ($32,000 as of this writing). Start planning your Pacific Coast road trip now!
