Choice of the day: 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera

Since I was 16 years old I own over 33 Porsche 911 and 912 series cars – from the low-end 1968 912 Targa to the 1973 Carrera RS. As a result, I have a lot of opinions on the 911 model, some of which are less popular than others. One of them unwelcome Honestly, I think the peak of the 911 development is the 997 model. I say that because the subsequent 991 and 992 ERA models became too big and too heavy, changing the classic 911 outline for the first time, making my eyes almost ridiculous. Of course, later cars (especially in the GT2 and GT3 forms) are one of the most expected and expensive 911 cars around. Still, for me, 997 represents the perfection of 911. The truth is, you can buy a nice 997 era 911 because I think the price will only add to the attractiveness of the model.

The choice of the day was one of these amazing cars, with the 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera located in Mesa, Arizona.

Sellers offering this 911 have a great list on Classicacars.com, showing that this 997 coupe was painted on its original seal grey metal on a black standard leather interior and released a new delivery at Kempthorn Motors in Canton, Ohio in February 2005 at Kempthorn Motors. On Georgia, it does a brief effect on Georgia. The car’s 3.6-liter flat-six engine was replaced by the Porsche Rocklin in 2012, about 53,000 miles and powered to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car also offers some great options, including heated front seats, sports wheels, sports era kit, Bose stereo, Xenon headlights and newly updated PCCM stereo.

The replacement engine of Porsche dealerships should definitely not affect the value of this car, but I’m sure someone there thinks it is. I guess it was caused by an IMS bearing failure or something like that. When it is replaced with a dealer, this could mean a brand new factory engine that is dealer-shaped and may be under warranty. For me, this only makes it better.

The car rides a nice set of Porsche 19-inch turbo style wheels, all in perfect condition, with zero edge popping up any kind of rash and wrapped in new continental performance tires. The seller is also very transparent as they reveal that Cafax suffered minimal losses to the front of the car in 2016, but returned to the road and provided services only 10 days later. Our store inspection revealed that the rear bumper had been repainted, but no other damage components.

The interior of this Porsche looks in good condition and is barely (if any) visible in the photos. This car is as I want, and the addition of the Porsche classic PCCM head unit allows it to sync with the phone like any modern car – making it as functional as the latest 992, but with better styling and a lower price.

Mechanically, the car sounds in good condition. It has a factory with a 325bhp Boxer 6, which has a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 182 mph. The seller notes that the car has a very powerful manual transmission that moves perfectly and transfers the power to the rear wheels smoothly. In addition, the air conditioner will blow cold and the heat should do its best.

This 2005 911 includes OEM key/key unit and complete floor mat. The car has just been served by Porsche Rocklin, which includes inspections, oil changes, cabin/air filters, spark plugs and drive belts.

If you want to buy a great example of the peak of 911’s styling and performance I still think, this 2005 997-911 coupe costs just $36,997, which looks just $36,997.
