- Arkansas police chased a speeding Chrysler 300 that was more than three times the speed limit.
- Police eventually ended the pursuit out of public safety concerns after losing track of the car.
- The suspect was arrested while parking the sedan and trying to cover it with a tarp.
Police across the country know that in some situations their firepower on the highway is at a disadvantage. Modern performance vehicles have capabilities unimaginable in everyday police cars. Some departments have even complained about such cars. Not even Arkansas state troopers have been able to keep up lately. Still, they eventually found the suspect.

We’ve reported on various police chases before. These include situations where the suspect escapes with the help of a very fast car and good enough driving skills. In the video below, you’ll see a very fast Chrysler 300, but the driver probably just didn’t know when and how to end up hiding from the police.

According to the Evening Times, the driver was 19-year-old Isiah Menner. At around 10 a.m. on November 29, he and two passengers were stopped by traffic. Menna did not stop but took off, police said. The chase began in Earle, Arkansas, about 30 minutes from the Mississippi River.

The speed increased and local authorities asked Arkansas State Police to intervene. When this happens, the soldier closest to the action is Matthew West. As Trooper West joined the pursuit, Menna’s driving behavior became more “obvious,” the Times reported. He allegedly changed lanes without signaling, narrowly avoiding a collision with other vehicles.
West attempted a PIT maneuver, but Menna managed to maintain control of the Chrysler. Then, at some point, local police used radar to record the getaway car traveling at 174 mph (280 km/h) in a 55 mph (88 km/h) zone. Menna allegedly left the highway and returned to city streets. At this point, West lost track of 300 and terminated the pursuit in the name of public safety.
It turned out to be the right move, too, as the suspect was no longer speeding. They actually stopped driving altogether and parked the car. There, a local Fish and Game officer saw two men covering the car with a tarp. Within minutes, the two men were in custody, and before the end of the day, Menna was in jail.
Now, if you’re wondering how the Chrysler 300 does 174 mph, it’s worth noting that while there’s no official Hellcat version, as the video title suggests, the SRT-8 does come with a 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V8, 470 horsepower (upgraded to 485 horsepower for the 2023 model year, limited to 2,200 units) and a top speed of 175 mph.
