Citroen Basalt Dark Version is about to be released

Fired black or dark shadows at the vehicle seemingly returning promising results for the OEM. This is especially true in compact SUV segments, where the black version is becoming more and more popular. Citroen soon joined the race, and their trailer suggested we could witness the launch of the dark or black version of the basalt coupe SUV.

Citroen Basalt Dark Version

There are currently two coupe SUVs in the compact SUV sector – Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt. Both SUVs are Arch competitors and are launched at the same time. Now that Tata Motors has launched the Curvv Dark Edition and made it the official car for the 2025 IPL Championship, it seems Citroen doesn’t want to be buzzed.

In this sense, Citroen just teased the black or dark version of basalt and will be released soon. Not confirmed, as the TCO will be called the trailer shows black exterior shadows and displays black on its alloy wheels. We can expect it to get some badges outside to distinguish itself from the regular size.

We can also expect it to get some updates internally. Among them are the black elements of black interior, dashboard and door decoration. There may be some dark chrome plating to make the cabin look more complicated. Special badges can also be found inside.

Citroen Basalt Dark Edition or Black Edition may be on the largest trim in the top specifications, which is a common trend for these special editions. Basalt’s famous features include a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, an 8-inch instrument screen, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls and more.

When it comes to powertrain, the Citroen Basalt Dark or Black version may be equipped with the 1.2-liter turbo petrol option available in the sole of the maximum trim. The engine is capable of developing up to 110 ps and 205 nm. Both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission are available.

With the launch of Basalt Dark Edition’s Black Edition, the company may also expect a better sales proposition. Currently, Citroen basalt sales are at the lowest point in its segment, with only 37 units sold in February 2025. Citroen’s basalt price has also increased by Rs 26,000 (EX-SH) in sales.
