  • Citroën will unveil a new show car in Paris, along with the updated C4 and C4 X.
  • The concept is described as “an illustration of a future model for a major market segment.”
  • All signs suggest that the new generation Citroen C5 Aircross is expected to be launched in 2025.

Citroën has detailed its product lineup at the 2024 Paris Motor Show with a few surprises – a new concept that will evolve into a production product. The French brand didn’t reveal the name of the show car, but it’s likely to serve as a preview of the next-generation C5 Aircross compact SUV.

Citroën describes the model as a “highly expressive show car” with a strong presence. It will also be “colourful and true to Citroën’s new design language” which has been applied to the new C3 and C3 Aircross.

Review: This is why I bought the Citroën C5 Aircross as a family hauler

The automaker calls the concept an “illustration of future models in key market segments,” possibly hinting at the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross. After all, compact SUVs are one of the dominant segments in Europe, and Citroën’s current proposal needs a major update since 2018.

The new C5 Aircross is expected to go on sale in 2025 as a twin to the 2024 Opel Grandland. The French SUV will ride on the STLA Medium architecture, which is compatible with all-electric, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid system options.

Like the new Opel Grandland, the upcoming Citroën C5 Aircross will increase in size over its predecessor, enhancing its family-friendliness and keeping a safe distance from the smaller but enlarged C3 Aircross.

As shown in our speculative renderings, its styling is expected to be boxier than the mechanically related Peugeot 3008. What’s more, the new generation is likely to retain the iconic comfort-focused chassis setup, staying true to the Double Chevron brand’s values.

We’ll learn all about the new car at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, which will take place from October 14 to 20. In addition to the above-mentioned concept cars, Citroën will also launch facelifted versions of the C4 and C4 X crossovers and showcase models such as the C3 and C4 X. C3 Aircross, and introduce some updates to the Ami heavy-duty four-wheeler.
