Citroën starts delivering Basalt SUV and accelerates

Citroën India has officially started deliveries of its much-awaited Basalt Coupe SUV, which was recently launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This special offer is applicable on all bookings and deliveries are scheduled before October 31, 2024. With the launch of the new car, Citroën is rapidly expanding its presence in India, marking a major step in its growth strategy.

Citroen Basalt SUV: pricing and models

The Citroën Basalt SUV was first unveiled in August and is offered with two engine options: a 1.2-liter Gen 3 PURETECH 110 turbocharged engine and a naturally aspirated PURETECH 82. Transmission choices include a 6-speed torque converter automatic and 5- and 6-speed manual gearboxes.

The naturally aspirated model is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in two variants. The turbocharged model is available in four variants, priced between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom). A dual-tone colour option is available for an additional Rs 21,000.

Network expansion and future plans

Citroën has announced that it will open 15 new showrooms and 7 service workshops in India as part of its ongoing expansion plans. The company plans to open 12 more new showrooms and 8 service workshops in the next two months. Citroën aims to reach 200 sales and service touch points by the end of this year to strengthen its commitment to the Indian automotive market.
