Dashcam captures ambulance slamming Chery onto roof

An ambulance rushed to the scene of a medical emergency that may have caused another medical incident.

Video sharer Australian driving recorder owners An Isuzu MU-X ambulance was shown, with its flashing lights on, inadvertently performing pit operations on a Chery Omoda 5.

The Chery vehicle was driving through an intersection on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and encountered a green light.

The Chery driver did not seem to hear the ambulance approaching from their left, and may not have seen the ambulance through the bushes on the side of the road.

The Chery had almost passed the intersection when the Isuzu hit the rear bumper on the passenger side.

The impact caused the Omoda 5 to roll and land on its roof before hitting the curb and moving further.

It was unclear how fast the ambulance was traveling or whether it was trying to slow down at the red light to ensure safe passage.

It’s unclear if any parties involved were injured.

In addition to traditional Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based ambulances, Queensland Ambulance Service also uses vehicles such as the Isuzu MU-X to provide critical care paramedics.

These vehicles are not used to transport patients but carry necessary medical equipment and are used in emergencies.

While drivers are required to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles with sirens or flashing lights, even when running a red light, emergency vehicles typically stop or slow down when entering an intersection to ensure they can pass safely.
