Demand for MG Windsor CUV is strong, with 101 units delivered in 2019

In an event reflecting the surge in demand for electric vehicles, JSW MG Motor India announced the delivery of 101 units of the newly launched MG Windsor CUV in Bengaluru. The Windsor hotel has received national attention, particularly with 15,176 bookings made in the first 24 hours after bookings opened. The launch of the Windsor unit is indicative of the growing interest among Indian buyers in premium smart CUVs.

Touted as India’s first smart CUV, MG Windsor combines the space of an SUV with the streamlined comfort of a sedan. Windsor is designed on a purpose-built “pure electric platform” to deliver an eco-friendly luxury experience for urban professionals and families. The car has a certified driving range of 332 kilometers per charge, making it suitable for short-distance urban and inter-city commuting. Priced at a starting price of INR 13,49,800 (ex-showroom), the Windsor also offers a unique Battery as a Service (BaaS) option priced at INR 9.99,000 and battery leasing at INR 3.50 per kilometer, optimizing the cost. Windsor stands out in the CUV segment with a range of technology and comfort features. This model is equipped with the first Aero Lounge seat in its class, which can be tilted 135° and is designed to improve passenger comfort during long journeys. With 604 liters of luggage space, the Windsor can also accommodate ample luggage, making it suitable for frequent travelers and families. The 38kWh battery is IP67 certified to ensure durability and safety, and supports four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport to meet various driving preferences.

Inside the cabin, connectivity and smart features take center stage. Windsor is equipped with MG’s Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (ICP), which integrates voice commands in more than 100 Indian languages ​​for easy operation. The 15.6-inch Grandview touchscreen display serves as the hub for navigation, entertainment and vehicle controls. It also supports more than 80 interconnected functions such as real-time navigation, remote vehicle control, and safety alarms, enhancing the driving experience of users accustomed to the integration of smart technologies.

MG Windsor is available in three models: Excite, Exclusive and Essence, and in four colours: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige and Turquoise Green. The model’s design incorporates an infinite-view glass roof and a class-leading 2,700mm wheelbase to create a spacious and luxurious appeal.
