
One of South Florida’s legendary hotels – Diplomat Resort Located in Hollywood, now part of Curio Collection by Hilton and soon to be Hilton Diplomat Resortserving meeting and incentive groups in 209,000 square feet of event space.
Dating back to 1958, the Diplomat Hotel opened in Hallandale Beach between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway and has hosted Bing Crosby, Maurice Chevalier, Ronald Reagan and Woody Allen and other celebrities until it was sold and eventually closed in 1991. Demolished in 1998 and built new Westin Diplomat Opened in 2002, it has 1,000 rooms and an adjoining conference center, signaling a greater focus on meetings and conferences.
Large meeting space on the beach
A specific date for the rebrand has not yet been announced, but recent hotel renovations are nearing completion and include a new oceanfront event terrace, renovated public spaces, a new outdoor bar and a new adult pool with cabanas. In addition, the 6,600-square-foot Signia Club hospitality suite is available on the 33rd floor of the 36-story hotel for a fee.
Diplomat’s oceanfront conference center includes a 50,000-square-foot, unobstructed lobby that can be divided into five, a 5,300-square-foot pre-function area and adjacent outdoor terrace. In addition, there are four ballrooms ranging from 9,000 to 20,000 square feet and 39 breakout rooms. Event space also includes a 10,000-square-foot outdoor palm patio above the beach.
The new Signia Hilton Diplomat Resort will join three existing Signia hotels: Atlanta (new building opening January 2024), orlando (opening June 2021), and san jose (Opening in April 2022). Another ongoing project at Signia is a new 800-room hotel scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, which will be Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. A smaller Signia hotel (404 rooms) is planned to be built next to the Signia hotel in mid-2027. palm beach county convention center and connect to 400 rooms Hilton West Palm Beach.
The Diplomat is a 20-minute drive from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and a 35-minute drive from Miami International Airport, depending on traffic.
