- Streaming has transformed the media landscape, but sporting events are drawing millions to traditional broadcasters.
- Automakers are well aware of this and heavily promote their latest products during football season.
- Chevrolet and Toyota have been emphasizing the Camry and Equinox, while Honda has delivered an inspiring message.
The airwaves were once filled with car ads, but the world has changed as many consumers now get their entertainment through streaming services. However, with football season in full swing and the World Series approaching, more eyes will be on Fox, NBC and CBS.
With Toyota’s halftime show and Chevrolet’s postgame wrap-up, the automaker figures prominently in these broadcasts. However, we’re more interested in the ads themselves and whether you paid attention to them.

If you’ve watched it, you’ve probably seen Honda’s Unstoppable Dreams, which features Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen. The clip starts with classic Formula 1 racing footage before a frustrating message is read aloud, showing a series of frustrations that grab your attention.
The video climaxes with “This is the point where I give up,” before revealing its true purpose as an inspirational reverse poem. This appeal makes the ad more meaningful and takes it beyond the typical car ad.
This is especially true after watching some competition content, including an upbeat ad promoting the 2025 Toyota Camry and a rather bland ad for the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. Hyundai also ran Santa Fe ads dating back to the Super Bowl.
With that said, when you hear a car commercial on TV, do your ears perk up, or do they fade into the background like white noise?
