Dodge Challenger lifts off and lands after missing turn

  • A speeding Dodge Challenger missed a turn and crashed into the air, hitting two homes.
  • A crash in Idaho killed one passenger, injured two others and caused a power outage.
  • Both homes hit by the muscle cars sustained significant damage, but no residents were inside.

High-horsepower machines always inspire awe, but occasionally they cause chaos, but in this case, the chaos had tragic consequences. A devastating crash involving a white Dodge Challenger in Nampa, Idaho, killed one person and injured two others as the muscle car flew through the air and slammed into the roof of a house.

The driver of the Challenger missed a turn early Sunday morning and crashed into a large earth embankment at an alarmingly high speed, according to local authorities. The Dodge then took off and soared through the sky, crashing directly into the brick chimney of a house. However, the chimney strike was not enough to stop the Challenger. It continued to soar before falling onto the roof of a second residence.

Unfortunately, the force of the collision and multiple impacts killed the Challenger’s front-seat passenger. The driver and a passenger in the back seat were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Neither house was occupied at the time of the incident. If anyone was home, we’re sure they would be frightened.

In addition to destroying the chimney of one house and destroying the roof of another, the Challenger also damaged nearby power lines, causing widespread power outages in the area.

Several images from the crash site have been shared on social media. They showed the Challenger’s entire front fascia had been destroyed, and it would apparently never be driven again. The owners of the two homes that were hit also had to make some major repairs. Hopefully the driver of the Dodge was insured at the time and that the insurance company will cover the property damage caused.
