Drop Top Customs modifies the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona convertible.
Dodge has not announced plans yet Offering a convertible version of its latest Charger, a convertible version of the modern muscle car probably won’t happen, at least not from the factory. However, thanks to aftermarket help, buyers who prefer to drive with the wind in their hair now have an option.
Florida-based Drop Top Customs, known for offering convertible modifications on previous Dodge Challengers, including directly at some Dodge dealers, took to social media to announce plans for its latest Charger convertibles, including the Charger Daytona electric car model.
Drop Top Customs was first spotted by Carscoops and has posted a series of photos of a convertible-modified Charger Daytona online. Details of the modifications have not yet been released, but modifications to the previous Challenger required structural reinforcements to reduce body flex, which increased the car’s weight. At 5,838 pounds, the Charger Daytona is already a heavy beast, and any extra weight will be unwelcome for performance enthusiasts. The weight of the standard car is already felt during spirited driving.
Drop Top Customs also didn’t reveal details about pricing or availability. Modifications to the Challenger cost $23,999, not including the cost of transporting the vehicle to the company’s workshop in High Springs, Florida. Cost includes fitting a power soft-top roof with heated rear window and retractable rear quarter window. The roof unit requires approximately 20% of the boot space.
For buyers with extra cash to splash, Drop Top Customs offers interior upgrades such as Katzkin leather upholstery for the seats and center console.
The latest Charger is currently only available in Charger Daytona EV form; however, there are plans to introduce an inline-6 version later, as well as a sedan body style to join the current coupe. Currently, the Charger Daytona starts at $61,590 for the 456-horsepower R/T and $75,185 for the 630-horsepower Scat Pack. Battery capacity is 100.5 kWh.
