Dodge Charger Daytona comes with 26-inch wheels and worries about speed bumps
  • Customers have already begun modifying their new Dodge Charger Daytonas.
  • One of the first examples is this red coupe with 26-inch Forgiato wheels.
  • The top-of-the-line Scat Pack has 630 horsepower and 260 miles of range.

The Dodge Charger Daytona has always been controversial because it was the first electric muscle car. This is also the first complete overhaul of Challenger in nearly two decades, marking a major transformation.

Dodge’s “muscle fraternity” has been complaining ever since. However, cars started arriving at dealerships and into the hands of customers.

Corey Jones appears to be one of the first, having recently taken his car to Sammy’s Tire in Illinois to have it outfitted with 26-inch Forgiato wheels. It’s unclear which one, but the company offers two different wheels designed specifically for electric vehicles. They are aerodynamically optimized and available in 20-inch and 22-inch configurations.

However, these are small compared to those installed on Jones’ Charger Daytona. Even though the gaps look a little tight, they’re really noticeable.

We’ll likely see a host of revised Chargers over the next few months, but in the meantime, we’ll remind you that the R/T starts at $59,595. It has a 100.5 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) and 404 lb-ft (547 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.7 seconds and have a range of 317 miles (510 km) on a single charge.

If money is no object, you can buy the Charger Daytona Scat Pack for $73,190. It features an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 630 hp (470 kW / 637 PS) and 627 lb-ft (849 Nm) of torque. This reduces the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 3.3 seconds, but range plummets to 260 miles (418 km).
