Dodge Charger Rumors It Will Get Hemi V8 Power in 2026
  • Engineers are reportedly developing a new Dodge charger using the Hemi V8 engine.
  • The model is rumored to arrive in late 2026, about a year and a half after Hurricane I6.
  • Considering that the Sixpack variant offers up to 550 hp, the Hemi model can bring heat.

Earlier this month, an alleged email claimed that the RAM 1500 will be available in 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engines in the near future. . A new TRX variant is also expected that might offer more power than its 702 hp (523 kW/712 PS) predecessor.

Since then, we have heard rumors that Hemi production will begin in Michigan this summer. Now, a new report says the V8 will enter a new charger.

Mopar Insiders claims the performance brand is “actively” bringing the V8 back to the charger lineup. This will happen soon, as Hemi may return by the end of 2026.

There is no news about performance specs, but the old 5.7-liter V8 produced 372 hp (277 kW / 377 PS) while the 6.4-liter engine kicked off 485 hp (362 kW / 492 PS). This is no longer impressive, as the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter hurricane inline six hurricanes are expected to output 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS).

This may indicate that Dodge is planning a V8 Performance flagship store, which is not surprising given the company’s history of Hellcats, Hellcat Redeyes and Demons. Of course, only time can tell what will happen.

It is worth pointing out here that according to the report at the end of last year, Dodge Engineers told Jalopnik Under the hood of the new charger, installing the Hemi V8 is easier than doing. Obviously, this will require some serious platform tweaks, including major cradles and firewall modifications. All of this means that Stelantis’ investment is heavily invested, but as they say, in the case of a will, there is a way.

Speaking of engines, Dodge has reportedly increased production of the charger Sixpack. Now, it is scheduled to start in May and happen this summer. However, that doesn’t make much difference, as Dodge has announced that it will launch a gas-powered charger this summer.
